Millie Bobby Brown talks about the insecurities she had as a child actor.
Millie Bobby Brown has been deep in the spotlight since she appeared in season one of Stranger Things at age 12.
Sadly, the now 19-year-old British actress still carries many of the insecurities she developed as a child star, which she weakly admitted in a new interview with the British edition of Glamour.
"I feel like shit today," was one of the first things Brown said to a reporter.
"I have a big zit on my face," she said. 'I look on Instagram and I see five beautiful women! Perfect! Steek! And, OK, slay." This, she said, would very likely leave her "sobbing, because I know I don't look like that."
Such conflicts, celebrity or not, are relatable to many of us, but for Brown, they seem painfully exacerbated by how young she was when she first became famous.
"It's hard to hear that at 13," Brown said. 'I don't ever want to talk about it again. I don't want to be the loud one.'" [I couldn't help but think about all the comments during the interview. So I just kept my mouth shut and when they spoke to me, I just remembered to speak, even though I was eager to participate. I didn't think it was my turn."
Because of these difficult experiences, Brown wants to help protect future child actors as much as he can.
"You can't talk to underage child actors," he said. 'I mean, our brains haven't physically grown yet. We have to do things that stunt our mental growth, practically stunt our growth, gird ourselves, and say, 'Hey, listen, you don't look that great. Why are you dressed like that? How dare you?'"
These days, Brown has learned to defend herself and not let anyone's opinion of her cloud her notions.
"I don't let anyone in." For her.
