A would-be Cinderella literally misplaces her shoes at the birthday gala of Denmark's Prince Christian
"A Cinderella Story" meets "Prince & Me."
The cutest thing happened at Prince Christian of Denmark's 18th birthday celebration this past Sunday, and my early 2000s rom-com-loving heart is pounding.
The young prince celebrated his birthday with members of the Danish royal family, including his grandmother Queen Margrethe and his father Crown Prince Frederik (Christian is next in line to the throne after Frederik).
Other guests that evening included Greek, Dutch, and Swedish royalty (including 19-year-old Princess Amalia of the Netherlands and 21-year-old Princess Elisabeth of Belgium), but who exactly left one (1) pair of glittering pinwheels at the Christian Bor Palace is unknown. It's like a Hallmark movie, don't you think?
If you ask me, someone obviously left the shoe on purpose to be cute and romantic. The only other explanation is that they switched to more comfortable flat shoes and didn't realize they only had one shoe, but I'm choosing to ignore that theory now.
The official account of the Danish royal family, which posted a photo of the high-heeled, sparkly sandals on Instagram, asked, "Was it Cinderella who forgot her shoes last night?
"When the guests of Her Majesty's dinner party went home yesterday, these lonely pinwheeled shoes were left at Christiansborg Castle. The owner of the shoe would be very grateful for any information."
"That's one way to find a prince," one person uttered.
"The Kingdom of Denmark is the land of fairy tales, so it is logical that Cinderella lost her shoe yesterday. The only question is whether Prince Charming will be on a mission!" Someone else asked.
I am! I'm dying, OMG, what if this is the beginning of a real love story?
