Princess Kate coordinates ZARA and Chanel to watch the Rugby World Cup in Marseille
The Princess of Wales wore her signature blazer and a mix of high and low on Sunday to attend the Rugby World Cup match between England and Fiji in Marseille, France (Kate is the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League patrons). (Kate is a patron of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League.)
For the occasion, Kate brought out a white tweed jacket from Zara. (She also wore a double-breasted blazer for the school visit in February.) ) The jacket, which featured shoulder pads and gold buttons, was paired with black wide-leg pants by Laurent Mouret and a black mini flap bag by Chanel, and accessorized with a Cartier watch and gold hoop earrings by Renique Lui. She accessorized with a Cartier watch and gold hoop earrings by Renique Louis. Kate rarely wears Chanel, but she has two Chanel purses, including a black wallet-on-a-chain and a burgundy top-handle style, "Page Six" reported. Kate's late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, also favored Chanel handbags and had several of the brand's black quilted styles over the years. [The white blazer is now worn by Kate to England rugby matches, and she opted for a white Alexander McQueen pantsuit for a September match.
Sunday's attire was in keeping with the recent trend of wearing pantsuits and separates instead of her signature midi dresses and tailored coats. And the other players at the game seemed to have the same idea: Mrs. Hilary Beaumont, wife of World Rugby president Bill Beaumont, was seated one seat next to Kate and wore an almost identical white jacket. (Beaumont wore a white blazer with white pants.) Neither Kate nor Beaumont seemed to react to this twin moment, and both looked great.
And just as Kate's outfit won out, England defeated Fiji 30-24.
