Don't expect to see Courtney Kardashian Barker for a long time after giving birth
Anyone who has ever watched Keeping Up with the Kardashians of yesteryear knows that Courtney Kardashian Barker loves pregnancy (her sister Kim, not so much, but of course, eventually realized it was all worth it). Kardashian Barker is currently pregnant with her fourth child, a boy, and the first with husband Travis Barker. (She shares Mason, Penelope, and Reign with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick.)
Kardashian Barker opened up to "Vogue" about this pregnancy, which is considered a geriatric pregnancy because she is 44: "That language is so violent. But my doctors are very careful, and there were a lot more restrictions than with other pregnancies. In the first trimester, no exercise, no air travel, no sex. Then in the last trimester of pregnancy I was allowed to do everything. Now I am back to all the restrictions."
In September, Kardashian Barker underwent emergency surgery to save the life of her baby along with her baby boy, causing a lot of concern." That experience opened my eyes to a whole new world of pregnancy that I hadn't known in the past. 'It was terrifying,' she said. Then I learned that insurance usually only covers two ultrasounds during pregnancy. I had no idea. I have always been lucky enough to do more than my insurance would cover, and it was one of the ultrasounds that saved my baby's life."
Prior to her pregnancy, Kardashian Barker underwent IVF: "Against my intuition, I was not well prepared for the emotional and physical toll," she says. After taking a break from IVF, "I got pregnant naturally. I felt indescribable. Shocked, then super happy, then terrified and worried. But then I remembered to be grateful."
[8Once the baby is born, Kardashian-Barker plans to return to the attachment parenting style she did with Penelope and Lynne. 'I didn't leave the house for the first 40 days,' she said. "After that, you are super connected and I love it."[11
But surprisingly, as many plans are in place for the new boy, she does not have a birth plan and never has in any of her past three pregnancies. 'When my water broke with Mason, I was very calm,' she said. 'I shaved my legs and put on makeup. This time, I still don't have a birth plan, except to talk to the baby all the time and say, "Everything is going to be great.""
[15As her baby's due date approaches, Kardashian Barker is focused on staying calm. She said, "With this pregnancy, I'm finally letting go of all the fear and worry that everyone has put us through. I'm ready to have my baby and have the experience we were meant to have."
