If you recognize Jennifer Aniston's black gown on "The Morning Show" - there's a reason for that.

[If you recognize Jennifer Aniston's gown on The Morning Show, it's by design. The dress that Aniston's character, Alex Levy, wears to the Valentino party in season 3 of the show is a replica of the gown that Aniston herself wore to the 2010 Golden Globe Awards.

In episode 7 of season 3 of The Morning Show, Alex finds herself at a party hosted by Valentino and creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli himself. People reports, "Alex struts her stuff in a one-shoulder black dress with a dramatic slit, just like Aniston would actually wear."

"And if you saw this scene and looked twice to see if you recognized the dress, that's because you did.

"The funny thing is, I had brought in a couple of dresses, and when we were fitting [Aniston] said, 'You know what I want to wear. I want to wear that dress,'" Debra Maguire, one of the costume designers for The Morning Show, told People. So we went to Pierpaolo to see if it was possible and if he would make it for her. So we went to Pierpaolo to see if it was possible and if he would make it for her. That's really what she wanted to wear. It's very Jen. It's very Alex. It's just everything. It's very Valentino."

The dress in this scene, People notes, "is an exact replica of the one Aniston wore on the red carpet at the awards ceremony 13 years ago, right down to the train that trails behind her as she passes by."

At the party, many people wore pink in honor of Valentino's PP Pink collection, said Sophie de Rakoff, one of the show's costume designers. When we worked on the Valentino gala, we knew from the beginning that we wanted a look that was really, really cohesive visually," she said. Valentino had just finished the PP Pink collection."

This decision not only made the party very current, but also highlighted Aniston as Alex in a black gown. That was the costume designer's intention for the "beautiful scene," People reported.

Maguire spoke to Harper's Bazaar last month about her and Aniston's working relationship, saying, "There's this flow that no other actor has. Jennifer is very good in that she knows what works." Her instincts are so reliable that no other actor can match them. You can see it in the personal decisions she has made regarding red carpet looks.

And while the 2010 Golden Globes were not the first time (nor will they be the last) that Aniston wore Valentino on the red carpet, Valentino is her favorite, according to an August interview with The Wall Street Journal, Aniston was asked which red carpet look she would wear again. Valentino 2010, Golden Globes. I loved it."
