Martha Stewart Responds to Criticism that She Should Dress Age Appropriately: 'I Don't Think About My Age'
Martha Stewart is 82 years old, but in the grand scheme of who she is, that is just a minor detail. While attending the Fashion Group International Night of Stars Gala in New York City, she was asked about "dressing for your age."
"I've been wearing the same clothes since I was 17," Stewart said. 'When I look at my Instagram pictures, they look pretty much the same. I don't think about age. I think everyone is getting more and more [fabulous] as they become seniors, and I applaud each and every one of them."
[4In addition, Stewart proved that age really is just a number earlier this year when she appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue with Megan Fox, Kim Petras, and Brooks Nader. Stewart called the occasion "once in a lifetime," People said.
"It wasn't a goal I set for myself, but once they asked me, I thought, 'Let's do it! ' I thought," she said.
She added that she wanted covering the swimsuit issue in her 80s to be meaningful not only to her, but to all women: "Whether it's a beauty challenge, an intellectual challenge, or a charitable challenge, it's important to face challenges. It's a lot of fun for me to be able to get up and do it. And this is accomplishing something that no one else can accomplish."
