Sweater season is upon us. (Speaking of which, have you caught up on the fall 2023 sweater trends?) Katie Holmes, the unofficial queen of chic fall dressing, showed us the right way to start the cozy season. On the streets of New York this week, the actress glowed in chunky, colorful knits with speckled, tie-dyed intarsia. (The brand behind her kaleidoscopic options believes that Gabriella Hearst-Holmes' rainbow sweater is incredibly similar to a knit by female designer Lawrence, but we have yet to confirm 100 percent credit.)

Consider her latest sartorial statement a sign: maybe it's time to move on from plain sweaters and opt for something eye-catching and dopamine-inducing, like Holmes' colorful sweaters. Let's replace the old-fashioned, cream or navy sweaters with fun, graphic pullovers.

Holmes completed her easy fall look with a pair of dark wide-leg pants. For accessories, she finished off her look with a dark red (the latest color trend) giant tote and blocked out the sun with a pair of classic oval sunglasses. As always, Holmes' hair was a classic "mommy duty" messy bun. She walked down the sidewalk in her favorite pair of black horsebit loafers (the Extrean style is always in style) and a bright red phone case. This probably wasn't planned as part of the outfit, but it added another fun pop of color to the fall ensemble.
