Britney Spears and Sam Asgari were in a relationship from 2016-2023.

Spears' memoir, The Woman in Me, is out now, available wherever you buy the book, and contains many bombshells. But praising Asgari in the memoir was not one of these bombshells: the global superstar only submitted the final draft of the piece before parting ways, and the story ended before that.

That said, Spears praises Asgari in the book; in an excerpt published on Page Six, the star writes of the early days of their relationship, "We were both very close to each other. In the beginning our chemistry was insane. We couldn't keep our hands off each other."

She also wrote: "We were both very happy with the way things were going.

She also writes, "I admire him - his consistency in working out, being a good man, being healthy, taking care of me, and helping us learn how to take care of each other."

"He is such an inspiration and I am grateful."

Toward the end of the book, Spears says of Asgari, "He is a very good friend. I like that he doesn't drink." In contrast, Starr begins the book by recalling how he spent a lot of time outdoors as a child to escape his parents' constant fighting, calling his father, Jamie Spears, an "alcoholic."

In August, the first reports of an impending divorce between Spears and Asgari were made. It is unclear what actually happened, but TMZ claimed that the separation followed a "nuclear argument involving allegations of cheating."

Asgari then addressed the separation with the immortal words "Sh*t happens." Meanwhile, Spears made an emotional post on Instagram recounting her "pain" and "tears" over the separation; the two had been married for only 14 months.

Now, if you want the full story of the separation, Spears also wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post a few weeks ago, "volume 2 coming after 1," hinting that there would be a sequel to The Woman in Me. This has not been confirmed by Spears' publisher.
