Princess Eugenie Learned Parenting Rules from Meghan Markle
Princess Eugenie recently became a mother of two with her husband Jack Brooksbank, with whom she has two sons, two-year-old August and five-month-old Ernesto.
The princess recently appeared on the podcast White Wine Question Time, where she was asked about life with small children.
Eugenie began by talking a bit about her adorable children and their unique personalities.
"My kids are so wonderful," she told host Kate Thornton (via OK!) "Augie is like a 2 1/2 year old firecracker, and for some reason he listens to me. And Ernie smiles all the time, so they're really easygoing and wonderful."
Eugenie also humbly boasted, as she herself admits, that her two children are good at sleeping through the night.
"If there was an Olympic sleep competition, I think I'd win. 'I could sleep for England as a national sport and I think my sons have developed that talent. I hate to say this to all the moms listening, but my boys are really good sleepers."
As part of the chat, the princess also shared with Thornton some of the principles she tries to keep in mind in raising well-rounded boys.
"'Courtesy makes the man' - that's what I'm trying to do with my kids now," she said.
As OK! pointed out, there's a reason this adage sounds familiar in the context of royal parenting: it's what Meghan Markle herself cites as really important in raising her own children, Archie and Lilibet.
In an interview with The Cut last year, the Duchess of Sussex explained that she and Prince Harry try to teach Archie manners. 'We tell him all the time,' she said. 'Manners, manners, manners, manners, manners, manners, manners,'" she said.
Basically, Megan and Eugenie seem to exchange parenting stories and tips. Frankly, it can only be a good thing to have a community of fellow mothers.
