Tracee Ellis Ross' new bob and bangs are incredible!
Tracee Ellis Ross is no stranger to retro hairstyles (or any hairstyle, for that matter). Last month she appeared at the Fast Company Innovation Festival with bangs that looked like a '50s bumper, and now it looks like she's taking her vintage inspiration a step further with a new bob and side-swept bangs.
The Pattern founder debuted her new chops in a feature in Hommegirls Magazine, which hit newsstands Wednesday, October 25. For this cover, the 10th issue of her menswear-inspired multimedia project, Ross wore a constructed black suit jacket and leather tie. But her sleek, gravity-defying bob was the star of the show, framing her iconic smile as she smiled with her eyes closed.
"I am so in love with this cover story. What an amazing day we had. What a team, THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU," Ross said on the magazine's Instagram.
The look was reminiscent of the heavier bobs of the 60s, with a bit of the 90s runway thrown in. Ross' bob and bangs were styled by hairstylist Eric Williams (using Pattern Beauty products, naturally) and expertly blow-dried to reach new heights and widths. A Pattern Beauty hair dryer, designed specifically for textured hair, was probably used to create this look.
The "Girlfriends" actress launched Pattern Beauty in 2019. The then-small, black-owned and black-focused product line was created for people with textured, curly hair. Now it boasts over 50 products." This was created from the heart of a woman honored to be a part of this community. It's something I've dreamed about for 20 years, dug out my hair, and thought about what I longed for," Ross told Marie Claire upon launching the brand
