The Crown" creator "hasn't read a word" of Prince Harry's "spare"
Peter Morgan, creator of The Crown, obviously did an enormous amount of research to dramatize the real-life recent history of the Royal Family.
So it is not surprising that Morgan would have been first in line at bookstores on January 10, when Prince Harry's shocking memoir, Spare, was released.
However, Morgan did not even mention "Spare," despite the fact that Season 6 of "The Crown," which traces the life of the royal family since the death of Princess Diana, is set to air on November 16.
"I haven't read a word of it. It's not that I'm not interested. But I didn't want his voice to intrude too much into my thoughts." I have a lot of sympathy for him. But I didn't want to read his books."
Spare would have been great material for the next and final season of the Netflix show, given that Harry is featured heavily in the new episodes and he tells his entire life story in detail and directly in the book. However, it is also understandable that Morgan thought that reading it would color his perspective.
A new trailer for season 6 was released yesterday, October 26, and the tone is clearly as somber as the subject matter demands. It depicts scenes of Princess Diana's final days, her vacation with boyfriend Dodi Fayed, and the constant attention from the press.
The clip also shows young Prince William and Prince Harry calling their mother that summer and Prince William asking, "Mom, are you okay?"
The clip also shows him asking, "Are you okay? Another clip shows Elizabeth Debicki, played by Diana, asking, "Paris next week?" and gets into her car amidst the angry shouts of royal fans and the press. The trailer also mentions Diana's posthumous death.
