King Charles has invited David Beckham to discuss his work.
David and Victoria Beckham are friends of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and were on the guest list for Harry and Meghan's 2018 wedding. No one knows if Harry and Meghan will invite David and Victoria to dinner anytime soon, but it appears that another royal is about to do just that. Several news outlets are reporting that David has accepted a dinner invitation to speak to King Charles about becoming a celebrity ambassador for the royal charity.
According to The Sun, Beckham is "being courted in the hope of sprinkling a little stardust on the Prince's Foundation, which provides skills training for young people. It is an open secret that David wants a knighthood one day, and many people are wondering why he hasn't become a Sir after all he has done," a source told the magazine. David was awarded an OBE 20 years ago for his soccer career, while Victoria received the same honor in 2017 for her achievements in the fashion world. (An OBE is part of the British honors system and stands for Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
The King's meeting with David will probably take place at Dumfries House, home of the Scottish Foundation.
"The King wants to explore potential projects and see if there is common ground to work with David on," they said.
There is at least one common ground here. Remember, David lined up for hours to pay his respects to the late Queen Elizabeth a few days before her funeral in September 2022.
