Ariana Grande has recently been in the news for her alleged relationship with "Wicked" co-star Ethan Slater.

Their reported relationship came just days after the public learned that Grande was separated from her husband of two years, Dalton Gomez, and many fans questioned the exact timeline of these related events.

Grande and Slater's relationship (if true, since neither has admitted it yet!) is particularly troubling to people because the actor, best known for his role as SpongeBob in the Broadway musical, has an 11-month-old baby with his wife of nearly five years, Lily Jay. Slater and Jay were high school sweethearts.

Unfortunately, at this stage, most of the information about Grande and Slater is word of mouth and has not yet been verified, so a pinch or two or three more should be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, here is a little of what we know so far.

In April, a source told gossip platform DeuxMoi about his chance encounter with Gomez: "He was a very nice guy! He was goofing off with his wife. He said he had been with her for five months but had to go back for work."[9

DeuxMoi shared this quote after it was reported that Gomez and Grande had been separated since January. However, even if the two had separated in March, this proves nothing, as it is unlikely that Gomez would confide in a complete stranger about it.

Another source told DeuxMoi this week that Slater and Jay "were absolutely not separated. It had been going on for six months behind Lily's back. Finally, two weeks ago, someone on the set told her. Apparently Ariana had become friends with Lily and was going to their house to play with their baby."

Again, we will never know if this is true. What we do know for sure is that Jay broke his silence last weekend and told Page Six, "[Ariana] is really a story. It's not a girl's girl. My family is just collateral damage."

So whatever happened, we know that Jay is hurt by the whole situation and that the situation is somehow related to Grande.

Meanwhile, a source recently told Us Weekly, "Ethan convinced Lily a few days before the Ariana thing hit the news that he wanted a divorce. Lily did not see it coming."

Another source told the magazine that Slater and Jay were "separated when they (Slater and Grande) started dating and the relationship is recent."
