Prince William Promotes Familiar Activities in Another Video Making Fun of His Hair Loss

[Prince William has always been the king of self-deprecation; according to People, William appeared on the latest episode of YouTube's "Sorted Food" this week to highlight the innovation of the three 2022 Earthshot Prize winners, who talked about their hair loss in the video. William and David Attenborough established the Earthshot Prize in 2020 to recognize five winners each year for their contributions to environmental stewardship. Each recipient will receive a £1 million grant to continue their work. The awards will be given for the first time in 2021 and will run annually until 2030.

"I don't know if you've heard about the Earthshot Prize, but this is an initiative I started about two years ago," William said. I'm not sure if you've heard of the Earth Shot Award, but I started this about two years ago," William said.

After a quip, the Crown Prince added, "It's designed as an environmental award to address the world's biggest environmental issues."

This is not the first time William has joked about hair loss; when he stopped by Spitalfields Crypt Trust (a holistic recovery service for people with complex drug and alcohol addictions and often homelessness) in 2017, he told a neighborhood hair stylist, "I don't have much hair. I can't do much work."

According to People, the new video is the start of a partnership between the Earthshot Awards and YouTube. The media outlet reports, "Announced in May, the two-year partnership will see the Earthshot Prize work with the streaming platform to produce content that inspires users to take action on climate change with urgent and optimistic stories from around the world."

Of the initiative, William said, "We liked the idea that this is a big thing and something we should really be working towards." He said in the clip, "It's about saving the planet," adding, "And there are a lot of people in the world who already want us to move on to the next planet. We've got a good thing here. Let's not give up yet!"
