Taylor Swift's $100,000 bonus to truckers is a "game changer," letting them buy their first home.

News broke this week that Taylor Swift has paid out bonuses totaling $55 million to the staff of her Eras tour.

This is a very generous sum and, according to one shipping company boss, could have a truly "life-changing" effect on the recipients.

"She's donating a life-changing amount of money to these people," Mike Shirkenbach of Shomotion told Rolling Stone in a recent interview.

"Many of these drivers don't own homes, and a lump sum like this gives them the ability to make a down payment on a house. I'm really happy about that. The generosity is a game changer for these people."

"It's a game changer.

Schelkenbach also told the publication that artists similar to Swift might normally give drivers bonuses of between $5,000 and $10,000, which is obviously generous, but pales in comparison to what she gave them this time.

He sincerely appreciates Swift's generosity and is offended that anyone would question her intentions. He said, "The comment that bothers me the most when I read it is when people compare [what she donated] to her net worth." [That's irrelevant. There are many very wealthy people who choose not to share a penny. We work with all kinds of wealthy people and this is not the norm."

Not only is it irrelevant, but by my very unprofessional calculations, Swift actually ended up giving roughly 7.5% of her net worth to the Elas Tour staff.

Transportation professionals generally like working with Swift because of the culture they feel she is creating on tour.

"They did a documentary for Netflix on her last tour, Reputation, and she put my driver's name in the credits," he revealed, "and when you put your driver's name in the credits of a film, it shows the personality of that person He said, "It's a great way to show that you're a good person.
