Madonna Breaks Silence on Recent ICU Stay: "I'm on the Road to Recovery"

Madonna spoke about her recent health problems and hospitalization.

Last month it was announced that the superstar had a "serious bacterial infection" and was undergoing treatment, but she is thankfully recovering now and shared a heartfelt message to her fans on Instagram.

"Thank you for your positive energy. Words of prayer, healing and encouragement. I feel your love and support. I am on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life," Madonna wrote.

"When I woke up in the hospital, my first thought was of my children; my second thought was that I didn't want to disappoint the people who bought tickets to my tour. I also didn't want to disappoint the people who had worked so tirelessly over the past few months to create my show. I don't want to let anyone down [right now] I'm focused on my health and getting stronger! Our current plan is to reschedule our North American tour and begin touring in Europe in October"

The singer's famous friends further shared this care and support, with Julia Fox saying, "We love you so much. You have never let us down."

Jerrod Blandino, co-founder of Two Faced, "We love you so much!" He said.

Producer Nile Rogers said, "We love you M." He commented.

Rosanna Arquette said, "Love to the Queen."

In June, Madonna's manager and producer Guy Oseary wrote on Instagram, "On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection and will be in the ICU for several days.

"Her health is improving but she is still undergoing treatment. A full recovery is expected. [At this time, all commitments, including tours, must be suspended.

"We will provide more information as soon as we have new start dates for the tour, rescheduled shows, and other details."
