Britney Spears Writes Memoir, Title and Release Date to Be Announced

Pop superstar, entrepreneur, mother, wife, and now author. Her "courageous" memoir, The Woman in Me, will be released on October 24, People reports. (After a bidding war among several publishers, Gallery Books, a subsidiary of Simon & Schuster, won the memoir. ) "Britney's compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed the law, and demonstrated her inspiring strength and courage. Her memoir will have a similar impact and will no doubt be the publishing event of the year." We couldn't be more proud to finally help share her story."

The "compelling testimony" that Bergstrom refers to is when Spears successfully fought her court-ordered conservatorship for over 13 years. Spears gave public testimony in June 2021 begging a Los Angeles judge to dissolve the arrangement, and on November 21 of that year, that is exactly what happened.

The book reveals for the first time "the incredible journey [and] core strength of one of the greatest performers in pop music history," according to a Gallery Books press release. The book "illuminates the enduring power of music and love, and the importance of women telling their own stories in their own words."

The Woman in Me is "a brave and surprisingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope," the press release continued. It is a film we cannot wait to get our hands on.
