Britney Spears on Her Upcoming Memoir: "I Worked Hard for This Book"

One of our most anticipated books this fall is Britney Spears' memoir, The Woman in Me, which will be released in October. And, as Spears did in her performance, she really seems to have poured it all in.

In an Instagram post yesterday following the release of her book, Spears spoke with clarity about how she "worked so hard" on writing her memoir and how she "went through a lot of therapy" to take on such a big project.

"Guys, my book is coming out soon," Spears said to her 42 million (!) Instagram followers. I worked so hard on this book. I went through a lot of therapy to get this book out. If you don't like it, that's okay.

According to Page Six, "The singer then posted a second video in which she said a nearly identical sentence, but her husband Sam Asgari was heard saying she was 'going too far' in that clip," the outlet wrote.

The clip was followed by the pop star singing "Kokomo" by the Beach Boys, alluding to an upcoming trip to Bermuda.

In a press release for the book, Spears' publisher said the memoir "illuminates the enduring power of music and love and the importance of women telling their own stories in their own words." The Woman in Me is a brave and surprisingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope," the release continued.

Page Six reported that Spears' book deal is worth $15 million and that the book will "rock the world."

Spears follows her sister Jamie Lynn, who wrote her own memoir, Things I Should Have Said.
