While the "are they together or not?" controversy continues, Us Weekly reports that Leonardo DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid are apparently aiming for a "low-key romance": friends of DiCaprio say they would be "surprised" if the actor settled down with the supermodel. (DiCaprio seems pretty keen on the single life, so it might be a surprise if he settles down with someone else.) And the romance with Hadid seems to follow DiCaprio's M.O., a source tells the outlet.

"Leo has the best life and is one of the happiest people [his friends] know. He lives a very full life and enjoys the comfort of being able to do whatever he wants, whenever and wherever he wants."

DiCaprio and Hadid have been dating since last September, and according to his friend, "Some of Leo's aides are convinced he will never fully settle down and get married. But they are not worried about him finding the right person". The source added that the actor is "willing to date if he finds the right person," and that the Oscar winner is "totally content to maintain his bachelor lifestyle."

Settling down is "not something he's worried about," the source adds. If he actually decides to get married, his friends will be really surprised."

Just a month after his last relationship with Camila Morrone, whom he dated for four years, ended in August 2022, DiCaprio set his sights on Hadid in September, "but she is not interested," one source said at the time. However, according to Us Weekly, Hadid changed her attitude toward DiCaprio later that month, and their friendship went beyond that. "They have been meeting secretly and spending time together in private," another source told the magazine last October." They are very much into each other and keeping an eye on how things are going."

A few months later, in February, they split, but were spotted at a mutual friend's birthday party later that month, sparking rumors of a reconciliation; in March, they attended an Academy Awards party, where they apparently "never left each other's side"; in May, DiCaprio and Hadid were spotted at the same Met Gala after In May, DiCaprio and Hadid were spotted at the same Met Gala after-party.

A source told Us Weekly in June that Hadid has a "friendly, no-holds-barred 'situationship'" with DiCaprio. Neither of them is looking to settle down at this point."

However, things seem to be progressing, with another source telling the outlet earlier this month that "they are only seeing each other now," and while the dynamic is still "casual," they are "dating" and seeing what comes of it.
