Channing Tatum, now a single father, shares on YouTubes how he braids his daughter Everly's hair.

Yes, Channing Tatum is a very famous Hollywood actor. But did you know that he is also the author of a children's book series called Sparkella?

Tatum recently appeared on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna to discuss the new book in this series, titled The One and Only Sparkella and the Big Lie.

In speaking with the two hosts, Starr explained that she was inspired to write the story after an incident involving a lie with her 10-year-old daughter Everly. To this end, one of the hosts asked Tatum what kind of parent he was.

"I have no idea. I don't know. I'm just trying to get by. 'I guess I'm just trying not to screw up my kids like every other parent. But I know I will."

Later in the interview, co-host Jenna Bush Hager told Tatum, " You became a single father around the time you created this character.

The actor told her, "One hundred percent. I never intended to be a single father.

"And I was pretty nervous. I was going on YouTube and looking up how to braid my hair.

I pause to ponder how nice this is.

Tatum continued, "So that's really where this book series came from. I was really trying to figure out how to talk to little girls."

"I was raised very, very differently. For example, my father in South America was like, 'Hey, if you touch that again, you're going to get whipped. But I had to learn where to be strong and where to be firm.

Incidentally, Tatum was born in Cullman, Alabama. Throughout the interview, he explained how he and Everly set boundaries without the kind of rigor he experienced as a child.

Tatum and his ex-wife Jenna Dewan welcomed Everly in 2013 and divorced in 2019.
