Prince Harry Admits He Made "Mistakes" and "Stupid Decisions" and Was "Immature" in His Relationship with Chelsea Davy

Long before he met and married Meghan Markle, Prince Harry had a long-term relationship with Chelsea Davy from 2004 to 2010. (Harry and Chelsea remain close friends and attended his wedding to Meghan in 2018.) Harry's lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspaper Limited names Chelsea and alleges that the company hacked Harry's phone and Harry claims that the company hacked his phone and voicemail to obtain his personal information for the article.

According to OK, Harry referred to an article claiming that he and Chelsea got into a fight over the phone after Harry was allegedly caught flirting with another woman while Chelsea was out.

"I was immature," Harry said. 'I didn't think very carefully about my actions, and I made some stupid decisions. Harry did not specify what the "mistake" was.

Harry also said he "doesn't remember" how Chelsea reacted to the article at the time, but acknowledged that they may have argued because "a lot of our relationship was done over the phone" due to their schedules.

Harry said that by this point in their relationship, they had "become distrustful of everyone around us" and were "very guarded." Some earlier articles claimed that a writer for the publication had obtained inside information by talking to "friends" of Harry and Chelsea, but no one knew the details of their phone calls surrounding Harry's alleged affair except Harry and Chelsea themselves.

"So how did the defendant journalist find out about this?" Harry asked. Harry asked, implying that his phone had been tapped.

According to Page Six, Harry cited the British press as a "major factor" in his eventual breakup with Chelsea, saying that their relationship was "always destined to break up" because of "the prying eyes of the tabloids."

"It was a feeling of being constantly watched," Harry said.

"I think Chelsea found this more difficult to deal with when she was living in England.

Harry said he "tried to be the best partner I could be," but his mother, Princess Diana, said there were three people in every relationship (himself, Prince Charles, and Camilla Parker-Bowles) in her marriage

After all, Harry had been in a relationship with three people.

Eventually, Chelsea decided that "the royal life was not for her" because of the media scrutiny. Harry said that their breakup was "incredibly upsetting" to him, but that he understood why she did so. He noted that they lived in constant "fear" of their "safety" which led to "a great deal of unnecessary stress and tension in our relationship."

He also noted that "the fact that we had to live in such fear of our own safety" was "a huge source of stress and tension in our relationship.

"We also could not comprehend that private elements of our lives would be in the tabloids. I remember becoming unable to trust anyone, and suffering from depression and paranoia."

In the aforementioned 2005 moment, Harry was caught "flirting with a brunette" at a party while Chelsea was away. The article claims that Chelsea was "furious" with him and "tongue-tied him on the phone."

Of Chelsea, Harry wrote in his memoir Spare, "She didn't care what anyone thought. She wore miniskirts and high-heeled boots, danced however she wanted, and drank tequila just like me.
