Rumors Emerge That Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Were Not Invited to Next Weekend's "Trooping the Colour"

Incredibly, next Saturday will be King Charles' first "Trooping the Colour" as monarch. It takes place every June, even though Prince Charles' actual birthday is in November. (His late Majesty the King's actual birthday is in April, and June was chosen because of the generally good weather in London that month, despite the current heat wave.)

According to the Mirror, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been left off the guest list (it is unlikely that Harry will attend, as he is a member of the royal family). Buckingham Palace would not comment on whether Harry and Meghan were invited.

Harry and Meghan attended the last Trooping the Colour held during the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations last June, but "since then, Harry's memoir and the couple's Netflix documentary are believed to have strained relations with the royal family."

"The Mirror" reported.

Richard Eden of the Daily Mail is "told that Prince Harry and Meghan, however, have not been invited to next weekend's royal birthday parade." The lack of an invitation to the Sussex couple "reflects the state of the relationship," a source told the magazine.

However, Harry and Meghan were invited to the king's coronation last month, with Meghan remaining in California with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, while Harry attended alone. Archie's fourth birthday coincidentally fell on May 6, the same day as the coronation.

As part of his preparations for next weekend, Prince William conducted a colonel review of the troops yesterday, with more than 1,400 soldiers from the Household Division and the Royal Mounted Artillery taking part in the review. Three guardsmen fainted in the sweltering heat as temperatures in London soared to 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit).
