Prince William loves not only Kate, but the entire Middleton family.

It was not only Kate Middleton that Prince William fell in love with, but her entire family. The Middleton family, his parents Michael and Carole and Kate's younger siblings Pippa and James, seemed to William to represent the "normal" (whatever normal is) family he never had: upper-middle class, tight-knit, and relatively drama-free. The Middletons were probably a breath of fresh air for William, who not only grew up as royalty, but also grew up in the middle of his parents' feud.

And as the Daily Express reports, William believes that the Middletons are and always have been a great source of stability for him. In the Amazon Prime documentary "William and Kate: Into the Future," Andrew Morton (best known as the biographer of William's mother, the late Princess Diana) described how the Prince of Wales "craved" stability for the Middleton family after his parents divorced when he was 14 told of how she "craved" the stability of the Middleton family.

"After all, for a child who grew up in a broken home, as William did, he always longed for stability, stability," Morton said.

"It's not just Kate he's in love with.

In the same documentary, royal author and journalist Richard Kay spoke of how William wanted to avoid his parents' mistakes in his own marriage: "Everything about William can be traced back to what happened to his parents. 'He has experienced the bitter breakup of his parents' marriage. He knows that what happened to his parents destroyed their marriage, and he's very careful not to make the same mistake."

Like him now, Michael and Carol are parents of three children, and "over the last few years we have found that he is really close with his children," Rachel Andrews said of Kate's parents. He admires the way Carol and Michael raised Princess Catherine, Pippa, and James, and that seems to be reflected in the honest father figure William is today." Of course, he lost Diana when he was very young, and he looks up to Carole. Having Carol and Michael there allows him to open up to people who are cut off from the monarchy."

Today, William, Kate, and their five Welsh family members, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, live in Windsor, a short drive from Bucklebury, where the Middletons' eldest son and his family live. Carole, in particular, has recently been in the news for the collapse of Party Piece, the venerable business she founded in 1987, with debts of more than 2.5 million pounds, and Carole is "understandably upset and deeply disappointed by the situation," one close friend told the Daily Mail's Richard Eden. 'For the past five months she has been doing everything in her power to find a buyer who will not only move the business forward, but also honor the outstanding debt. Carroll believes in accountability and admits that it was a bit naïve of her to step back and leave the business she spent decades growing to someone else.
