Prince William receives a special traditional event on his birthday.

Prince William turned 41 on June 21, marking the season of Cancer (significant as a royal "thing" because this is the sign of his mother, Princess Diana, and mother-in-law, Camilla).

To mark the occasion, the bells of Westminster Abbey were rung. The official Twitter account of Westminster Abbey released a video of the musical celebration with the words "Happy Birthday today, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales."

"The Abbey bell ringers are ringing 541 changes of Stedman Caters followed by a course of London Surprise Royal in celebration." changes of Stedman Caters followed by a course of London Surprise Royal in celebration.)

While this may sound like a normal royal thing (just as they all have Cancer in their constellation), Westminster Abbey bell ringers are actually quite rare these days due to post-pandemic financial difficulties.

A stark illustration of this is that in 2022, Princess Kate (then Duchess Kate) did not receive the honor of bell-ringing due to budget cuts, nor did her husband. That year, according to People magazine, only Queen Elizabeth and then-Prince Charles received the honor.

However, this interruption did not last long. For it was later decided that William and Kate's birthdays would again be celebrated with the ringing of bells in 2023, when they became Prince and Princess of Wales, and that Queen Camilla's birthday would be celebrated with traditional music on July 17, when she would turn 76.

On the occasion of William's birthday, body language expert Darren Stanton shared his thoughts on how the prince has evolved in recent years. We don't see the same gestures that we used to see in the past that indicated a lack of confidence or a feeling of being a fish out of water. He is a completely different person than he was when he first started appearing in public when he was younger."

For Stanton, this change is largely due to the influence of his wife Kate. He says, "I think Kate has been a big part of his personal development. When they first met, neither of them was a very confident person. But they have both grown over the years."

Here's to growth!
