Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Offer "Great Expectations"-Inspired Shows as Netflix Demands More Content

A lack of content was behind Spotify's decision to part ways with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle earlier this month. The couple also has a multimillion-dollar deal with Netflix, whose eponymous documentary "Harry & Meghan" was a huge hit last December. But according to the Mirror, the streaming giant is also now looking for more content. The couple has so far only been paid half of their contract amount by Netflix, and they are reportedly seeking more content to pay the remaining balance.

"There is no question of a headline-grabbing, public breakup," a source told The Sun of the arrangement between the couple and Netflix. 'Netflix is delighted to have signed Harry and Meghan and is looking for great ideas going forward.' But the remainder of the contract depends on them generating those good ideas. The contract is under continuous review, which is normal for a contract of this size."

Potential next great content idea for Harry and Meghan" "The Mirror" reports that the show is inspired by "The Great Expectation. The show is titled "Bad Manners," and is likely to be based on Charles Dickens' Miss Havisham. The magazine reports, "This prequel reimagines the lonely bachelor as a strong woman living in a patriarchal society."

Harry is also planning a documentary, "Heart of Invictus," which will follow competitors from around the world as they train for the Invictus Games in The Hague, Netherlands.

With Spotify gone and Netflix still on the table, the couple still seems to have a million balls in the air. Rumors abound of a revamped version of Princess Meghan's lifestyle blog "The Tig," more books from Penguin Random House, and partnerships with the clothing trade and social media.
