Eva Mendes Explains Why She Won't Share the Red Carpet with Ryan Gosling

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling continue to be one of the most private celebrity couples, including not posing together on the red carpet. Mendes recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of "Place Beyond the Pines" with Gosling on her Instagram, writing, "Magic is real. We didn't just meet on set. The magic started long before, but here is a little magic captured on camera. Thanks to the wonderful director, Derek Cianfrance"

.

But it was Mendes' reply to the commenter that caught our attention - per "Entertainment Tonight," the commenter said, "I hope Gosling's highly anticipated movie 'Barbie' will be shown during awards season and that fans will be able to see Mendes and Gosling together in a movie expressed that they hope to see Mendes and Gosling out promoting the film together," the media outlet reported.

"What a cool comment, thanks," Mendes replied. 'But we don't do that sort of thing together. ♥️"

But Mendes quickly corrected her, recalling that she and Gosling posed together on the red carpet for "Place Beyond the Pines" in 2012, and added, "Wait a minute - for those who might catch me in a 'lie' - we were promoting this movie. We stood on the red carpet together once," he added. (We found a photo of that red carpet, above.)

According to Access, another fan commented and asked why she and Gosling felt comfortable doing the red carpet together. Mendes' response was, "'I don't feel comfortable' means exposing our private lives, which we hold dear. But I would love to do another movie with him. ......" She wrote.

They share daughters Esmeralda and Amada, and although neither Mendes nor Gosling have officially confirmed their relationship status, Mendes shocked fans last November when she called Gosling her "husband" in an interview with Australia's Today. Shortly before that interview, she had sparked marriage rumors with a new tattoo that read "de Gosling."
