Gwyneth Paltrow whispers "I wish you well" to plaintiff after winning $1 in ski accident trial

People's (and by people I mean Twitter) opinions of Gwyneth Paltrow have been leaning quite a bit to the left in recent weeks.

First, a lot of anger was directed at her when she showed off her rather extreme diet habits, which included only coffee in the morning and bone broth (open in new tab) for lunch. (But then the trial began, and many commentators who had previously been anti-Gwyneth, joined her cause, calling her "iconic" and calling her various appearances "serving." (See ...... for recent children.)

Let's rewind.

A man named Terry Sanderson sued Paltrow for over $300,000 in damages for reckless conduct on a ski slope while on vacation in Park City, Utah.

Paltrow counterclaimed for the symbolic $1, which was granted after a two-week trial.

Videos and photos of the trial were constantly uploaded to social media while the trial was taking place, prompting many memes and comments.

For example, this banana-like video of Sanderson's lawyer questioning Paltrow was captioned by one Twitter user, "This Gwyneth Paltrow testimony looks like an SNL skit."

Writer Beth Kalb said, "Sorry, but in this country, if Gwyneth Paltrow runs you over on a ski slope, you say 'thank you' and get on with your life."

The New York Times then published an analysis of Paltrow's courtroom style. It's normal.

Anyway, after Paltrow was found not at fault for causing the collision between himself and Sanderson, he was photographed whispering to him, "I wish you well."

The Twitter account Popbase posted a clip of the incident, with one person commenting, "This whole trial needs to be sold to Hulu."

After the verdict, Kalb again had mot just.

She said, "Today, justice has been served; since 2016, we have been living in a nightmare where truth and justice are cast aside by manipulative, fame-obsessed con men seeking glory. Now, finally, the most watched jury on the planet has ruled that Gwyneth Paltrow did not beat a man."

(For the record, Donald Trump was indicted the same day Paltrow won her case. Kalb was taking a cue from that.)
