Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Frogmore Retreat "Looks Like a Settlement" for King Charles, Royal Expert Says

ICYMI, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been asked to fully vacate their British home at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor by summer.

Prince Charles' decision to evict his youngest son and his family from the Windsor residence is said to have been prompted by Harry's publication of "Spare" and the shocking revelations about the royal family in his memoirs.

"The loss of Frogmore Cottage is unwelcome news for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex," Ingrid Sward, a royal biographer, told the Mirror.

This is doubly true because the loss of the house poses a serious security threat to the Sussexes: while Frogmore House is protected by the British Metropolitan Police because it is on royal grounds, the Sussex family is no longer entitled to the protection of the Met.

: King Charles appears to have sent a strong message to the Sussex family that he disapproves of their recent choices.

"The fact that Harry, the King's son, is being targeted seems like a settling of scores for disloyalty to the family in his explosive memoir, Spare," Sward argued.

"Prince Charles will always love his son, but as he said in his first public address as king, Harry and Meghan will 'continue to build their lives abroad. Buckingham Palace has therefore continued to discuss with the California-based couple the need for a residence in the UK,

" "The proposal to relinquish Frogmore apparently did not go down well, especially as they have paid the Crown Estate the rent in advance. . But nothing was impossible at the Crown, and a formal eviction order was issued and they were evicted from the cottage before the end of their term of office."

Seward used the word "proposed," but it seems that the Sussexes had little choice: one source told royal writer Omid Scobie, "Harry and Meghan will have to move out by early summer. Initially they were only given a few weeks, but now they have at least until after the coronation."

Whether they will attend the coronation after all this drama remains to be seen. ......
