It is common knowledge in the royal family that Prince William and Kate Middleton broke up around 2007, four years before their eventual wedding, after several years of dating.

And despite all the years that have passed since then, the nosy among us are still a bit fascinated as to what the heck happened during their time apart.

Taking advantage of our inexhaustible curiosity, body language expert Judy James turned her attention to an old video of Prince William and Prince Harry dancing in the stands at a 2007 concert for Diana, which has been trending on TikTok.

To experts, it appears that William is trying to show his ex-girlfriend Kate that he can have fun without her (since she is a few rows behind him).

"This hilarious clip shows that it wasn't always Harry who played the comedy moment at the Royal Farm, and that his brother William was quite capable of annoying Harry with his unrestrained dad-dance," James told the Express.

"William seems to be directing this dance at his brother, urging him to join in while Harry appears to be developing a more serious conversation with his then-girlfriend Chelsea.

"Kate was a few seats behind, probably thanks to her infamous "breakup" with William that year.

James also notes that Harry's ex-girlfriend Chelsea Davy played a key role in the entire exchange.

"It appears that it was Chelsea who made Harry aware of William's attention-getting dance ritual.

"Harry turns around with a straight face, the very expression of a teenager being humiliated by his father during a party.

Harry seems to have been trying to save William from being "humiliated" in front of Kate.

"He even mimics sweaty palms by wiping one hand on his trouser leg and pointing at Kate to get William to stop doing it.

To experts, all of this seems to be evidence that William was trying to prove something to his then ex-lover.

"There are strong hints that William is trying to brag to Kate that he is enjoying his freedom and having the best time without her," she observed.

"His elbows are raised in jizz mode and the wobble in his neck hints at a touch of defiance. It must have been just a little swan song before he settled down with Kate, though."

"As a signal to make the most of a single, free young man's life, it failed comically. Kate was behind him the whole time, and he was clearly not cut out for this kind of body language ritual"

This was not the only time William seemed aware of his embarrassing fatherhood: he once sang on stage with Taylor Swift and Bon Jovi when he appeared on Apple Fitness+'s "Time to Walk" series He recalled.

Of that once-in-a-lifetime experience, he concluded. "It's okay to have moments where you don't take yourself too seriously, where you let go and say, 'This is okay.' So yes, let's laugh. Don't watch the video of me singing. But try to laugh to yourself about how I felt."
