Prince Charles and Prince William have no intention of apologizing to Prince Harry before the coronation.

Prince Charles and Prince William have no intention of apologizing to Prince Harry before the coronation.

Before agreeing to attend his father King Charles' coronation on May 6, Prince Harry is apparently seeking an apology, but according to several news outlets, he should not expect one. According to the Daily Mail, neither Prince Charles nor Harry's brother Prince William will give Harry the apology he is seeking. [The wedding at London's Westminster Abbey is just over 70 days away, but family relations remain as frosty as ever, with the Daily Mail reporting, according to sources, a "toxic standoff." 2,000, a significant reduction from the 8,251 who attended Queen Elizabeth's coronation 70 years ago. Invitations for the coronation will be sent out to the 2,000 invited guests in two weeks, with formal invitations sent out only three weeks before the event. According to the Daily Mail, Harry has long been a member of the royal family and openly invited to all family events, even though he and his wife Meghan Markle retired from active membership in the royal family three years ago. This open invitation remains "though stretched to the limit" thanks to Harry and Meghan's Netflix documentary and Harry's confessional book, Spare, the magazine writes.

Journalist Omid Scobie, who is close to Harry and Meghan, said this week that "no one knows their plans right now - they haven't been invited yet and can't make a decision or set an itinerary until it happens," according to The Independent. Before saying yes to the ceremony, which happened to take place on his son Archie's fourth birthday, Harry wants an apology, and Harry himself said in an interview with ITV's Tom Bradby to promote "Spare".

According to the Daily Mail, Prince Charles is at least willing to talk to his son - "He's my son and I love him," his friend says of the King, but William is adamant that he is "in no mood for any kind of talk."

"What is the family going to apologize for?" asks one insider.

"As the late Queen said, there may be a difference in memory." Another source adds, "I don't think His Majesty is in the mood to apologize at the moment. Quite the opposite. There is still a large amount of ill will swirling within the family. There may still be discussions in the coming weeks (over the Sussexes' attendance), but they will be waiting a very long time for an apology. I am very hurt (by Harry's behavior)."

William remains hurt not only by the attacks on him in Spare magazine, but especially on his wife, Princess Catherine. I am told that William has no intention of apologizing at all and continues to be outraged, especially over the way his wife, Princess Catherine, has been treated," says a family friend. The relationship between the siblings "is now not just rock bottom, it's practically nonexistent," says one source. I don't think William would be able to bring himself to look his brother in the face if Harry were to come to the coronation."

Meanwhile, the Mirror quotes writer Tom Bower as saying that Harry has "unwaveringly" requested a sit-down with Charles and William, and that "Harry is very clear and his position is unwavering - the atmosphere will be as poisonous as at the Queen's platinum jubilee and funeral If he feels that he is not going to come (to the coronation), he is not going to come."

It is truly a "toxic stalemate."
