Prince Harry May Add Chapter to Paperback Edition of "Spares," Sources Say

Prince Harry has said he has no plans to write a sequel to his best-selling confessional book, "Spare," but "Page Six" reports that sources are buzzing that the Duke of Sussex may add a chapter to the book's paperback edition. According to the source, "he may add a bonus chapter to the paperback edition of the book." (The hardcover edition of the book was released on January 10 and was such a big hit that it broke the record as the fastest-selling nonfiction book in history.)

"Prince Harry is already planning to add at least one new chapter to the paperback edition. Readers want to know how Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix documentary and publication of "Spare" have drawn royal backlash.

The book's publisher, Random House, did not respond to Page Six's request for comment, and according to the publisher, "Harry's rep huffily denied that he would include any new chapters in future editions, and when we asked for comment, he emailed us, "That is not true. We told him."

Harry himself said in an interview after the book was released that the first draft of Spare was 800 pages, doubling from the final content of about 400 pages. 'It could have been two books,' he said. The hard part was getting rid of a lot of stuff. 'There were things, especially with my brother, and to some extent with my father, that I didn't want the world to know about.

According to People, Harry is doing a sort of virtual book tour on March 4 at 12 p.m. EST, when the Duke of Sussex will perform live with Dr. Gabor Maté, an author and speaker known as an expert on trauma, addiction, stress, and child development. The two will discuss the book as well as "living with loss and the importance of personal healing before answering questions from the audience." Those who register for the event will also receive a hardcover copy of Spare.

"I am looking ahead and optimistic about what is to come," says Harry. 'I have a beautiful and blessed life, and with it comes status and responsibility. I feel I am where I am supposed to be and where we [my family] are supposed to be. Otherwise, I don't think I could have written this book."
