John Legend was dateless at Sunday's Grammy Awards ceremony.

His wife, Chrissy Teigen, decided to miss the event at the last minute for all too understandable reasons, as she shared with followers on Instagram.

The star posted a photo of herself sitting on the couch, sleeping and holding baby Estee, who was born in January and is just a few weeks old.

The model wrote in the post, "Happy Grammy Day! Trying on dresses, looking around and realizing ...... What in the world am I trying to prove here? I can't get up lol."

Her decision not to go was more than justified in the comments section, with Legend writing, "Just sitting there is fine AF."

Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe sweetly wrote, "Beautiful mama stay there."

Bethenny Frankel insisted, "Not today."

Teigen announced the birth of Estee Maxine Stevens on Instagram a few weeks ago, revealed that her siblings, 6-year-old Luna and 4-year-old Miles, were already smitten with her.

Their father later admitted this in an interview. 'The kids are excited. I wasn't sure how the kids would take it. But as soon as Esty was born, they burst with love and joy, and they love and cherish Esty so much. They want to hold her, they want to kiss her, it's really exciting."

Teigen is regularly praised for being deeply honest about her experience caring for her newborn. In the past, she has opened up about postpartum depression, and recently posted a photo of herself in a milk-stained dress that many commented showed the reality of being a new mom.
