Sarah Jessica Parker Opens Up About Aging: "It's Not Something to Worry About"
Sarah Jessica Parker is a legend, and after decades in the spotlight, she continues to inspire women around the world.
As part of a campaign with French skincare brand RoC, the actress shared her thoughts on beauty, confidence, and aging with Vogue Paris. Let's pay attention!
Asked about her attitude toward aging, Parker said, "I don't really think about age and I don't think it's something to worry about." [Well, I don't know if I'm in denial or if I just don't want to face reality! [laughter]
"I don't see the point of trying to stop time. Of course, sometimes I do care about my appearance, and I do want to look good when appropriate. But in any case, I really have no control over what people think of my appearance."
"How I feel when I put on a dress, that's what matters. I dress in a way that makes me feel good and I hope that it is interesting to others as well."
And Just Like That... The actress also expressed frustration with the reaction she receives as a woman to "wrinkles and gray hair" when men do the same and get no reaction at all. She explained, "I just can't be who other people expect me to be."
Parker is also grateful for what she has learned in her 57 years.
"I can't say my body has gotten any better. I used to be able to spend two hours on set and not have my knees and feet hurt," she revealed.
"But in my head, I feel 100 percent better. The more time goes by, the more experience, knowledge, and information we accumulate, the more mistakes we make, and the more we learn. The more you learn, the more you know how to deal with difficulties, problems, and disappointments."
Very well said.
