Princess Kate Wears Affordable Barbicore at Latest Royal Engagement
Princess Kate has always been known for mixing designer and affordable items.
Princess Kate proved she still has it in her latest royal engagement with Prince William today, January 26, when she visited Foodshare, a local food bank in Windsor.
Kate opted for a subtle verbiƩcoa look, wearing a fuchsia coat (open in new tab) and matching turtleneck sweater (open in new tab) by British label Hobbs (open in new tab).
She also accessorized with gold-tone hoop earrings by Orelia London (open in new tab).
She also chose to focus on three key issues: the arrival of King Charles' "slimmed-down monarchy," the need to remain relevant amid criticism from the Sussexes and anti-monarchists, environmental concerns, and the cost-of-living crisis that Britain is currently experiencing.
"The Royal Family has a knack for understanding what the public wants," comments historian Mok O'Keefe, known as @gayaristo.
"That means that the royal family will continue to exist in the minds of the people. Subliminally, the message could be about the costs of the monarchy or environmental issues.
"But I think what Kate is doing is 'normalizing' the royal family. It used to be a matter of 'mystique'; now it's a matter of intimacy."
[18] "We all have 'work clothes' that we wear over and over again. Kate is saying that when she works she is just like all of us. That makes the Royal Family less remote, more approachable, and, especially these days, more stable".
At FoodShare, the Welsh couple learned about the organization's work to provide food to those in need and helped check that the food baskets were lined up properly.
