Prince Harry and Meghan Markle invited to coronation but not expected to attend, sources claim

Will he or won't he attend the coronation?

Speculation has been rife for months as to whether Sussex will be seen at King Charles' coronation on May 6, but one insider is betting that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not travel to the UK for the historic event.

"The king does not expect the two to attend the coronation," a source close to the royal family told The Independent.

"The royal family will extend an invitation, but given what has been said in interviews and books, it will be very difficult for Harry and Meghan to attend. The family expects Harry and Meghan to find a reason not to be there."

It's cool, so it's kind of a fake invitation!

Of course, this is controversial because Harry and Meghan have made shocking revelations about the Royal Family in various media projects, starting with the Oprah interview in March 2021 and ending with the release of Harry's memoir, Spare, on January 10, 2023 because he chose to do so in a number of them.

So the reunion could be awkward at best and explosive at worst.

Harry has repeatedly claimed that he wants reconciliation with his family, especially his father Charles and brother William, but he has said he wants them to make the first move. This is apparently a problem for the royal family.

"They are cornered," a source close to the royal family previously told the Independent.

"They can't really get involved because everything they say is shared with the media. They can't have conversations or write letters. This is because of the potential for publicity and commercial gain by Harry."

"There is a complete breakdown of trust."

Hoo, boy.
