Prince William Vows to "Keep Going" to Those Close to Him at Royal Engagement Ceremony
Last Thursday, the Crown Prince and Princess went on their first work day of 2023, just 48 hours after the publication of Prince Harry's confessional book, Spare. William and Kate visited the Royal Liverpool University Hospital in Liverpool.
Sylvia, 81, clutched William's hand and said, "Hang in there, Will," in reference to his Liverpudlian nickname.
"I will," William replied defiantly, according to the Telegraph.
In "The Spare," Harry refers to William as both his "beloved brother" and his "sworn enemy." The title itself is a reference to "The Heir and the Spare," a nickname for William (heir to the British throne) and Harry (who is quite roughly referred to as "Spare" in the unlikely event that anything should happen to William).
After the book came out last Tuesday, a source told Us Weekly that William was "horrified" by the claims his brother made about him in the memoir.
"He doesn't even recognize his brother anymore," the source said. 'He wants to believe that there is still peace ahead, but it's hard. Harry's disrespectful and insulting attitude toward himself, his wife, his father, and the monarchy as a whole is just awful, and he doesn't seem to know how he can come back now". [At this point, he has no plans to talk to Harry. He's come to terms with the fact that he lost his brother. He knew the book could be embarrassing and potentially explosive, but not as much as this. In William's view, there is a lot of anger, skewed interpretations, and in some cases, things that are just not true at all."
"I think that the book is a very good book, and I think it's a very good book.
