2022 was "extraordinary and traumatic" for royal family, expert says
As we enter the New Year, many of us will be reflecting on what happened last year. [Royal family expert Jenny Bond says OK! [It's been a year of ups and downs, including the Platinum Jubilee, the Queen's passing, the funeral, and the continuing saga of Prince Harry and Princess Meghan.
And now the royals are looking forward to the coronation on May 6. Of course, as the Sussexes have revealed through various media outlets, everyone is still wondering a) if they will be invited and b) if they will attend.
"Charles is a loving father, so the invitation will arrive," says Bond.
"It's only been five years since Charles called me 'darling boy' on Radio 4. Charles always called him that, and although a lot has happened in those five years, he will always be Harry's father. I can't imagine him not being invited unless he said something really awful."
Bond is referring, of course, to Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, which will be released on January 10, and his interviews with Anderson Cooper and Tom Bradby.
What the Duke of Sussex will reveal about the royal family, particularly Prince Charles and Prince William, remains to be seen, but there is great concern about it. Still, what was revealed in Netflix's "Harry & Meghan" was apparently not enough to prevent the Sussexes from being invited to the coronation, so the memoir and interview may not be either.
