Prince Harry claims he was physically assaulted by Prince William in memoir: report
Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, reportedly includes claims that Prince William "knocked him to the floor" when he spoke about Meghan Markle in 2019.
The Duke of Sussex's memoir will only be released on January 10, but The Guardian obtained a copy ahead of the release date despite "tight pre-release security over the book."
According to the magazine, Harry recalled a confrontation with his brother at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, the Sussexes' home in London at the time.
William visited Harry at his home and reportedly came in "hot." William then referred to Princess Meghan as "difficult," "rude," and "abrasive." According to Harry, William "was not rational," The Guardian reported, and there were angry shouts from both sides.
After insulting each other, William said he was trying to help Harry. Harry replied, "You're trying to help me? Help me? Is that what you mean by helping me?
William seemed to have walked up to Harry at this stage, and Harry went to the kitchen with his brother in tow.
Handing him a glass of water, Harry said. 'Willie, I can't talk to you like this'
.
In the book, Harry recalls. "He put the water down, called me another name, and then pounced on me. Everything happened so fast. It was very fast. He grabbed my collar, tore the necklace off and knocked me to the floor. I landed in the dog bowl, which broke under my back and its pieces bit into me. I lay there for a while, dazed, but I got up and told him to get out."

William wanted Harry to hit him back like he did when they were kids, but Harry would not take the bait. His brother left, came back and apologized, but refused to admit that he had "attacked" him.
According to the BBC, Kensington Palace had "no comment."
