Prince Harry reveals in his memoir that he ate "mushroom chocolate" at Courteney Cox's home in L.A.

In a copy of Spare viewed by Us Weekly, Prince Harry admitted to ingesting "mushroom chocolate" while staying at Courteney Cox's house in Los Angeles. (The long-awaited memoir will be officially released on January 10.)

At the time, Harry wrote, Cox was apparently "traveling for work and did not mind staying at her house." For him, "the idea of staying at Monica's house was very appealing. And it was fun."

But when the Friends actress came home, Harry thought they had to leave, but she said, "We have plenty of room."

Harry said, "I was still confused. And I was Chandler. I was worried I wouldn't have the courage to tell her [that I was a little in love with her]. Was there enough tequila in California to give me that much courage?

By this stage, the party had started at Cox's house, and soon the prince came across "a huge box of Black Diamond mushroom chocolates," which were left "for everyone."

Harry explains, "Me and my mates grabbed some, gobbled them up, and washed them down with tequila."

Harry then went to the bathroom, where a trash can looked like a laughing human head to him. He told his friend to go inside to experience it for himself, but his friend mistook the blowfish jacket for a "dragon" and panicked.

"My pleasant trip was his hell," Harry wrote. 'How unfortunate. How funny.

Also in Spare, Harry admitted to having taken cocaine in the past, as reported by Us Weekly.

He said, "Of course ...... I was doing cocaine around this time. At somebody's country house, on a weekend of shooting, I was offered a bottle of cocaine.

"It wasn't much fun, and it didn't make me particularly happy, like everyone else around me did.
