Prince Harry not currently speaking with his brother Prince William and father Prince Charles
In an interview on CBS's "60 Minutes," Prince Harry told journalist Anderson Cooper that he has not spoken to his brother Prince William or father Prince Charles "in a while."
Harry appeared on the show to promote his memoir, Spare, which will be released on Tuesday. In the interview, Cooper asked the Duke of Sussex, "Are you texting Prince William right now? But I look forward to us being at peace," he replied.
Cooper pressed how long it had been since the brothers had spoken, to which Harry replied, "A while."
"Talk to your father? Cooper asked. Cooper asked, and Harry replied, "I haven't talked to him in a while. No, I haven't recently."
Harry admitted that he does not see himself returning as a full-time royal family member, but told People that the rift can be healed, but "the ball is very much in their court."
"Meghan and I have always said that we would apologize openly if we did something wrong, but every time we ask that question, no one gives us specifics or anything," Harry said. 'We need constructive conversations, private conversations that won't be leaked.'
"They'll say, 'Well, how do I trust you? How do we know that no matter what conversation we have in an interview somewhere, you won't leak it? Cooper replied.
"This started with them giving false briefings to my wife every day to the point that my wife and I had to flee the country," Harry said.
Cooper then said, "I think it's hard to imagine a Game of Thrones-like family dynamic without dragons."
And Harry, who has not seen the show, said, "There are definitely dragons. I mean, after all, without the British coverage as part of this, we would still be a dysfunctional family. But there is definitely a family at the center of it. I'm really looking forward to having that element of family back. And I'm looking forward to my relationship with my brother. And I'm looking forward to my relationship with my father and the rest of my family."
