Crown Prince and Princess reveal Prince George's secret talent
The Prince and Princess of Wales took to Instagram yesterday morning to post a striking drawing by their eldest son, Prince George, who is also heir to the throne, with the caption "Happy Christmas!" with a simple caption to start off the Christmas season.
The watercolor depicts a reindeer, two little birds, and a snowy blue background, and the parents were obviously (and rightfully!) They are proud of their work of art.
According to People, "From the late Prince Philip to Charles III and now George, the royal family has inherited a talent for painting. The King has painted numerous watercolors depicting royal residences such as Balmoral Castle in Scotland and Highgrove in Gloucestershire, England. In October of this year, a print of Prince Charles' painting of Balmoral Castle (he died in September at the age of 96) was sold at auction. The painting is signed by the King in pencil and dated 2001. In addition to being the place where the queen died, the late queen spent her late summers there every year, usually visited by members of the royal family.
Earlier this year, 79 of Prince Charles' watercolors were exhibited at London's Garrison Chapel; according to People, the exhibition featured outdoor scenes painted in Scotland, France, and Africa.
George's mother, the Princess of Wales, also has artistic talent; in 2021, Kate "used her artistic skills to thank the Scottish people she met this week during a royal tour of Scotland with Prince William," People reported. " Kate, who has a degree in art history from the University of St. Andrews, wrote the thank-you card with an impressive sketch of the town where they met and fell in love during their college years." She and William wrote on the card, "To the people, communities, and organizations we visited and talked to, and those who stopped to wave to us and make our return to Scotland so special - THANK YOU!" He signed the letter. Kensington Palace revealed that the striking sketch was from 2002, shortly after Kate began attending college.
Another drawing by Kate was included in the program for her sister Pippa's wedding in 2017. According to the Daily Mail, Kate painted St. Mark's Church in Englefield, where the wedding took place, for the order of service. Famously, Kate is also an avid photographer, and the subjects of her work are usually her children, namely George and his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
