Prince William and Princess Kate's Christmas Cards "Completely Contradict" Meghan Markle's Claims of Formality and Lack of Affection, Royal Expert Says

Prince William and Princess Kate unveiled their annual family Christmas card.

After they posted it on social media, royal expert Kinsey Scofield tweeted a photo with the caption "SO FORMAL."

This refers to Meghan Markle's insinuation on Netflix's "Harry & Meghan" that Kate and William are cold and formal.

In general, the British tend to be less huggy than Americans, but it has been noted that the Welsh couple are often seen hugging family members as well as the general public.

We don't know what happened when they met Princess Meghan, whether there was a misunderstanding or just a little awkwardness, but whatever the case, Scofield claims that the Welsh are less formal and the 2022 Christmas card is proof of that.

Marie Claire interviewed an expert to get her thoughts on the whole ordeal.

"It is amazing to me that the Palace seems to be one step ahead of Harry and Meghan.

"The Prince and Princess of Wales took this beautiful Christmas card a few months ago: ...... It completely contradicts Meghan's description of how formal and unfriendly the two are. It's as if they were saying, 'Hi, Megan. We own denim, too,' or something."

It is important to note that William and Kate did not know the content of the Netflix documentary when they took this photo, and therefore they could not have planned it as an astute response. Nonetheless, the timing of its release is nonetheless significant.

"Obviously, this is not in response to Meghan's claims throughout her reality show, but it is a rather amusing coincidence," Scofield comments.

"It reminds me of Harry complaining on Oprah that he couldn't ride a bike as a child, and then a month later the palace released a photo of Prince Louis' birthday: ...... Riding a bike.
