Prince Harry Says Royal Family "Missed Opportunity" to "Break from Tradition" with Meghan Markle
[For many royal watchers, Meghan Markle's entry into the royal family was a breath of fresh air.
Especially for people of color, the fact that she is biracial was a major step forward for such a traditional institution (which also has historical ties to slavery and racism).
Therefore, Meghan and Prince Harry's departure from the royal family was a great disappointment to all who had hoped for change and modernization of the monarchy.
"People inside that system, whether it's my family, my staff, my public relations, whatever, have already missed out on enormous opportunities with my wife, and how far that will go globally," the Duke said in the fifth episode of Netflix's Harry & Meghan.
Moku O'Keefe, who is on Instagram and TikTok as @GayAristo, seems to agree with Harry's sentiment.
"I watched the latest episode of Harry and Meghan's documentary and it was overwhelmingly sad," O'Keefe told Marie Claire.
"I am sad that the promise of change and rebirth that Meghan's arrival heralded has not been realized."
He added: "I am a monarchist. But this documentary is about the breakdown of families and the loss of opportunity."
He added, "I am not a monarchist. [But this documentary is about the breakdown of the family and the loss of opportunity. I fear, however, that the hatred shown toward Harry and Meghan means that this may not be the case.
