Meghan Markle Wins Two Awards in One Night for "Archetypes" and "Archewell"
On Tuesday night, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spent a glamorous evening in New York City.
There, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Robert F. Kennedy Ripples of Hope Awards Gala, where, according to People, they received awards for their humanitarian work at the Archwell Foundation, particularly on racial justice and mental health.
Meanwhile, while the royal couple could not be in two places at once, the Duchess was also honored in Santa Monica, Calif. There, her Archetypes series won the Pop Podcast of 2022 at the People's Choice Awards. Her podcast attracted millions of listeners who flocked to hear the stories of women stereotyped in a still misogynistic world.
The Royal Couple has already won numerous awards, including the NAACP Image Award and Population Matters' Change Champion.
Back in New York, the Duchess reminded us of her sister-in-law, Princess Kate. Her beautiful white dress was a hybrid of the Princess of Wales' two-tone Laurent Mouret top gun dress and Jenny Packham's bridal one from a recent official dinner.
Markle's dress, a Louis Vuitton creation, was an off-the-shoulder, ankle-length gown with long sleeves, a lightly ruched skirt, and a modest slit. According to Vogue, the dress was custom-designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, and the duchess paired it with black patent pointy stilettos.
She wore her hair tight, parted in the middle, and wore long drop earrings.
The royal husband looked dashing in a navy blue suit reminiscent of his brother Prince William's business casual attire.
According to People, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was also in attendance and was presented with the Ripples of Hope Award for his admirable leadership and courage in the face of Russian aggression this year. (The conflict is still ongoing, and if you want to help, Marie Claire has put together a guide of all the resources you can turn to.)
