Meghan Markle Wears Princess Diana's Ring, Symbolizing "Trust" and "Empathy" Ahead of Netflix Doc's Release
While Princess Kate wore jewelry and symbols honoring the late Queen Elizabeth at Tuesday's official event, on the other side of the Atlantic, Meghan Markle sent her own symbolic message via jewelry.
The Duchess of Sussex, who attended the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Gala, where she and Prince Harry were honored for their humanitarian work at Archewell, wore a stunning custom Louis Vuitton gown with a special ring.
The Duchess chose to wear a rather enormous aquamarine ring that once belonged to her husband's mother, the late Princess Diana.
Here, a jeweler explains the value of this gorgeous ring and its very interesting significance. [This striking aquamarine emerald cut cocktail ring features an aquamarine sandwiched between small solitaire diamonds. This eye-catching aquamarine was a gift to Princess Diana from her friend, Lucia Flecha de Lima, and was made into a ring by Asprey in 1996," says Maxwell Stone, diamond specialist at Stephen Stone (in a new tab (open in new tab). [Aquamarine is] one of the most beautiful gemstones. The ring, an enchanting pale blue, perfectly accented Meghan's Ripple of Hope Gala outfit and belonged not only to Meghan's late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, but also to the Duchess, who wore it as "Something Blue" on her 2018 wedding day, It is with great fondness."
But that's not all - Stone hints that the Duchess may have been saying something else about her state of mind by wearing this ring during this particularly charged week.
"Passed down from Harry to Meghan Markle, the aquamarine's light blue color symbolizes feelings of empathy, trust, and friendship.
Sadly, those in the royal family who are eagerly awaiting the documentary seem to have very different feelings, concerned about what it might reveal. But we can only wait and see.
