Prince William and Prince Harry Love Afternoon Tea Cookies, Former Royal Patissier Reveals
Royalty inherits many things: titles, traditions, and a sense of duty.
However, a surprising trait common to many royal families seems to be an unrelenting sweet tooth.
This is well known, and was confirmed by Fiona Burton, a former royal pastry chef who worked at the palace for 12 months around 2000.
She explained that Prince William and Prince Harry visited her in the kitchen. I'm 42, so a couple of years younger."
"They're similar ages, but we still called them our kids. They were really nice and liked to go into the kitchen for pastries.
Burton told Slingo (open in new tab), "That's where I developed one of my recipes, the chewy cookie. I developed it further from there. They were always a delight."
She elaborated a bit on which treats the two young princes had a special attachment to: cookies (which means "cookies" in the British way, not the kind you eat with gravy), cookies (which are more specifically chocolate chip cookies I assume you are referring to), chocolate, and nothing unusual."
"I found that when they make a lot of cookie and biscuit styles, they stay. They liked afternoon tea.
Do you know who else liked afternoon tea? Well, Elizabeth was famous for her "love of chocolate" and jam sandwiches (or marmalade sandwiches!!!) She also loved.
