According to People, "Harry & Meghan" will be streaming on Netflix in December, but Netflix has not confirmed this. Page Six, meanwhile, reported that the series will be released on December 8, but this date has also not been confirmed by Netflix.
It was initially reported that the Prince Harry and Princess Meghan documentary would be delayed thanks to the controversial fifth season of The Crown; Netflix reportedly did not want to add fuel to the fire by releasing the documentary so soon thereafter.
According to a Netflix press release, Harry & Meghan will delve into the Sussex couple's love story from their own perspective; through six episodes, the series will explore Harry and Meghan's relationship from their early courtship to the events that led them to leave the royal family. In addition, the series includes comments from close friends and family, many of whom have never spoken publicly about what they witnessed, and from historians on the relationship between the royal family and the press.
The trailer also shows Harry and Meghan confessing separately, so we can expect comments from the Sussexes themselves. On a picture of Meghan sobbing with her hands, Harry says that "no one saw what was happening behind closed doors" and adds, "I had to do everything I could to protect my family." Later in the video, Meghan asks the camera, "What is the best way to protect my family?" When the stakes are this high, don't you think it makes more sense to hear our story from us?" And.
Harry and Meghan apparently had a creative disagreement with the documentary's original director, Garrett Bradley. Garrett wanted Harry and Meghan to shoot at home, and they were not comfortable with that," a source from OK said." There was some wrangling between the two, and Garrett left the project."
"Garrett was not happy about it,"
and "Meghan was not happy about it.
Since his departure, Liz Garbus, director of 2015's "What Happened, Miss Simon" and 2012's "Love, Marilyn," has taken over.In an interview with Variety, Megan spoke candidly about working with Garbus. It's great to be able to give our story to someone else, and that veteran director is someone I've admired for a long time," she said. But that's not why we tell this story. We are entrusting our story to someone else, and that means through their lens."
