Prince Harry should have "broken" Netflix deal to reconcile with Prince Charles, royal expert says

The relationship between Prince Harry and his father King Charles does not appear to be getting any better, and sadly, Harry and Meghan Markle's various media projects seem to be doing nothing to bridge the gap.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Netflix documentary is set to be released on December 8, and a first-look trailer was suddenly released yesterday, December 1. According to one royal expert, if Harry wanted to reconcile with his father, the series should never have come to fruition.

"Prince Charles mentioned Harry in his first address to the nation when he became king and had already offered him an olive branch," royal writer Phil Dampier told the U.S. Sun.

"He would have offered an olive branch in private, and he would have been invited to Sandringham for the festive season."

"He obviously has no intention of returning home for Christmas, and Charles is very upset about that and the fact that his olive branch has been rejected. I'm sure he will be."

"He is not going to be invited back to Sussex.

It was almost clear from the outset that the Sussexes would not be attending Sandringham this year.

Royal family expert Angela Levine once said, "The Queen's death means that there is not as much pressure on the whole family to be together, since Harry and Meghan are likely not to attend. After the Queen's death, the family will want to have a very positive day, and I have no doubt that the presence of the Sussexes will undermine that"

.

For Dampier, however, it sounds more like the Sussexes have decided not to participate rather than that other members of the royal family will.

Of course, this sounds like a difficult situation for all involved: when the Sussexes returned home for the Queen's funeral, things seemed to be cooling between them and the other royals, so it is understandable that they do not want to spend the holiday season with their relatives in England until things calm down a bit. It is understandable.

Anyway, Dampier continues, " It would have been very difficult for Harry to break his Netflix contract and lose millions of dollars, but he had to do it to repair his relationship with his father."

We'll see what happens!
