Prince Charles "not at all thrilled" that Anne and Edward invited Prince Andrew

Princess Anne and Prince Edward recently attended a filming party near Windsor Castle with their disgraced brother, Prince Andrew, but King Charles did not attend because he felt Prince Andrew should not be allowed to attend this type of event.

"Prince Charles is said to have been displeased that Edward and Anne were meeting Andrew publicly and wanted it made clear that he was not attending the shoot," a source told the Daily Mail. [Anne and Edward were privately worried about Andrew and wanted to check up on him.

"But Charles' view is that he should not be in the public eye. His Majesty was not at all thrilled."

"He was not at all impressed.

Andrew attended the late Queen's funeral but did not show up when the Royal Family headed to church on Christmas Day. He is, however, invited to a private family celebration at Sandringham.

After details of his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein came to light, Lord York was forced to withdraw from public life. Survivor Virginia Giuffre also directly accused Andrew of sexual assault.

Andrew did not initially step down from active royalty, but did so after his "car crash" interview with Emily Maitlis on the BBC aired.

This decision was prompted by the Queen and then-Prince Charles, who firmly believed that Andrew should resign from his role.

"Andrew was a problem child, and the Queen and her eldest son moved swiftly to expel him from the public sphere," Andrew Morton wrote in an advance copy of his new book, The Queen (opens in new tab), as seen by "Marie Claire".

"Andrew now spends the rest of his life reflecting on his folly. Although he publicly regretted his "misguided association" with Epstein and expressed "deep sympathy" for the victim, it was all too late.

In short, Charles does not seem to have changed his mind about his brother.
