Sir Elton John was a surprise guest at Saks' holiday window unveiling ceremony.

On Tuesday, November 22, Saks Fifth Avenue hosted the unveiling of its annual holiday window display. The annual event featured music, a light show, fireworks, and a live performance by Sir Elton John.

The legendary musician made a surprise appearance and gave a moving performance of his signature hit "Your Song" (available on Saks Live). John also invited his husband David Furnish and their children, Zachary and Elijah, on stage to wish the audience a happy holiday season.

Shortly before the "Rocket Man" vocalist appeared, Saks CEO Mark Metrick announced that Saks would be donating $1 million to the Elton John AIDS Foundation's Rocket Fund. The charity works with governments and nonprofit organizations around the world to support HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, as well as the rights, healthcare, and dignity of those diagnosed with the virus. 500,000 of Sacks' donation (which will be given regardless of consumer sales) will come from Sacks' merchandise collection of apparel, accessories, home goods, and beauty products by more than 60 designers, with the help of Sir Elton John.

The metric presentation and John's performance were followed by a spectacular light show highlighting the Saks window displays. This year's show featured Elton John songs such as "Step into Christmas," "Cold Heart PNAU Remix," "Your Song," and "Merry Christmas." Meanwhile, the window displays themselves centered on nostalgic childhood games such as rocket ships and kaleidoscopes.

If you are in New York City during the next month, you can see the Saks window display through January 3.
